A single photograph can evoke a stunning array of thoughts, feelings, memories and emotions.
But what good is a camera without the eye which sees for it or the hand that guides it?
Marlen James' philosophy towards photography is that the energy of the subject; above all else, is what must be captured.

James' methodology includes a superior understanding of cutting edge digital technology coupled with an instinctive feel for what makes a great photograph.

Marlen James' portrait work is equally impressive.   She can utilize natural lighting and close-ups to create original portraits that tell a story with an editorial quality.   This talented photographer explores the human body along with ambience as motifs to describe the idea of beauty.   With an eye for make up, hair and settings as patterns; James creates portraits which suggest a subtle sexuality.
